What is ICF?
The name of the federation is International Cheerleading Federation and its abbreviation is ICF.
Established in 1998, ICF is a non-profit International Federation in which Cheerleading associations, recognised by the ICF as the representative of its country (or region) join together. ICF supervises the cheerleading associations of the world.
Objectives and Activities
Objectives
The objectives of ICF are to promote the sport of cheerleading worldwide, to spread knowledge of cheerleading in contributing and increasing healthy adolescents of the world, to develop friendly sporting relations among the member associations, and to contribute towards world peace.
Activities
ICF undertakes and administers the following activities to attain objectives as mentioned above:
To promote cheerleading activities globally.
To hold, authorize, cooperate with, and co-host world/international championships.
To determinate competition and safety rules.
To approve and raise the number of international judges.
To determine and approve coaching systems and increase international coaches.
To organize cheerleading clinics and lectures based on international rules.
To present information and assist research on cheerleading
To execute and publish books, auditory tapes, films, and such like.
Moreover, ICF undertakes what is needed to attain its purpose.
